Q. How is wireless Internet different from Cable Internet or DSL?

A. First, unlike these services, wireless has no wires from the street to your house. Our wireless Internet is not limited by a physical connection to a cable or phone network. If you have clear line-of-sight to either the Dye St. water tower or to the Fleming-Mason tower on Elizaville Rd. and live within 5-7 miles of either location, you can probably get our service. Second is speed. both Cable and DSL have fast download speeds but upload speeds are typically far less. Our wireless Internet has excellent speeds in both directions.

Q. How fast is this service?

A. Our wireless Internet operates at speeds up to 50x faster than a standard 56k dial-up connection. If you are tired of downloading web pages, music, games and videos at sluggish speeds, then our wireless service is for you!

Q. How quickly can I get wireless Internet service from Fleming-Mason Service Corporation?

A. Since we bypass other local cable or phone companies and we are the only company you deal with, our average time to get your service installed is less than 1 week.

Q. What hardware will I need to connect to your wireless Internet?

A. A computer and a Ethernet adapter. If your computer has an integrated network adapter we recommend that you replace it in order to maximize your speeds as some reduction in service levels could be experienced.

Q. How safe is this service?

A. We utilize frequency hopping spread spectrum equipment for our network. It operates on the Industrial, Scientific & Medical ("ISM") band at 2.4 GHz. This is often the same frequency used for garage door openers and cordless home telephones. The customer premise equipment ("CPE") is high security, high frequency and low power.

Q. Isn't this the same as Satillite?

A. No! Satellite transmits over thousands of miles creating delays known as latency. Our service utilizes local towers within 1-10 miles of the CPE which eliminates virtually all delays.

Q. For your 56k dialup service, what are the dialup numbers?

A.
